July 31:

Platanthera_ciliaris
Back in 2016, I found a single Yellow Fringed Orchid (Platanthera ciliaris) here.   It was past
its bloom and the only plant I could find. I looked for it in 2017 & 2018 with no success.
I stopped by on this date and, low and behold, there was the orchid, in nice bud.

Polygala_cruciata
Cross-Leaf Milkwort   (Polygala cruciata)

Linum_virginianum
Woodland Flax   (Linum virginianum)

Meadow_Beauty
Meadow Beauty   (Rhexia virginica)

Hatpins
Pipewort, aka Hatpins   (Eriocaulon sp.)

Sabatia
Slender Marsh Pink   (Sabatia campanulata)

Spiranthes
Southern Slender Ladies'-Tresses   (Spiranthes lacera var. gracilis)

Remember the Yellow Fringed Orchid buds at the top of this page?
I stopped by hoping to see the flowers starting to bloom, but couldn't find the plant.   Looking
closer, I finally found the remains, where it had been trampled and broken off at ground level.

August 5:
