In the summer of 2016, I found a number of Southern Slender Ladies' Tresses orchids
(Spiranthes lacera var. gracilis) at this TNC preserve.   In 2017, I could find no sign of
them, and worried that our 2016 drought might have done them in.   Visiting this July,
I was happy to see dozens of the tiny orchids emerging; they appear to be doing well.

July 2018:

Not an orchid, but I love these little flowers.

This species is distinguished from other Spiranthes by the distinctive green
spot on its labellum, and the edges are somewhat crenulate.
