The Fringed Gentian (Gentianopsis crinita) is extremely rare in Georgia.   The few known
populations all grow in the difficult soil conditions of the Brasstown Bald ultra-mafic ring.
This one site contains probably 90% of the Fringed Gentians in the state of Georgia today.
