| 2 - Mid May, 2022: Monitoring Platanthera herbiola, and other species... Georgia only has one documented occurrence of this species, that Tom Patrick and I "rediscovered" back in 2018. Since then, I have monitored and kept a check on these plants on a regular basis. These few plants have certainly had a tough time of it since we found them, with events including hog rooting, flood scouring, being eaten, and finally having a tree fall on them last year. This year was no exception - I found that something had chewed off two of the five flowering stalks. |
