Miller Family Graves - April 2026 Towns County, GA |

Back in 2020, I had photographed the remains of the old Ruben Miller homestead on Gumlog Mtn, with Sheldon. I had also photographed the remains of another old homestead on Miller Branch, unaware at the time that the same family had lived there before moving over to Gumlog. In early 2026, we learned that there were a few old graves at the Miller Branch site. The area has been disturbed over the years by FS roads and other activity; there were likely more burials here than what we found markers for.

Four field-stone grave markers I feel that this is probably a pair of graves, each with a head- and foot-stone.

Two field-stone grave markers Again, I think this is a single grave, with head- and foot-stone.

Another grave marker(?), now laying flat. There were other stones in the area that might have been grave markers, but as I said, the area has been disturbed and it wasn't possible to tell if they had any significance.

Remains of the old homestead fireplace / chimney This spot has been used as a camping area over the years, and the old chimney rocks have been moved around.
