| 1 - Brasstown Bald - June 23, 2026 I visited Mt. Enotah (aka Brasstown Bald) to see if I could find any Appalachian Twayblade (Neottia smallii, formerly Listera smallii). This orchid is ranked S2 - Imperiled in Georgia; only a handful of populations have been found. It loves to grow in the dark under Rhododendrons. I had last seen plants here in 2019 but never caught any blooms; I managed to find two stalks in bloom today. |

| There were considerably more Twayblade plants than just the two I found bolted with flowers. |
