| July 21, 2026 Our Three Birds Orchids (Triphora trianthophoros) have always had their first synchronous bloom of the season within a day of my sister Alison's birthday (July 22). But like every other plant in this odd year, they bloomed more than a week early! After missing the first flowering by one day, I made sure I wasn't going to miss the next one! And what a prodigious bloom it was! In my nine years of monitoring this species, I have perhaps seen an equal amount of total flowers, but never in such large clumps of plants! |
