1 - Mid July, 2021

I visited the FS Road at Corundum Knob to check on two species.   Unfortunately,
I was too early for the Lilium superbum (still in bud), and the Melanthium hybridum
(which is always a reluctant bloomer) did not put up any flower stalks this year.

Technically, not a mushroom but a parasite on another mushroom species...

2 - Late July, 2021

One week later, I made another visit to check on the two Lily species.
The Carolina Lily was still in bud, but the Turk's Caps were in full bloom!

Trash
Arriving at my usual parking area by the gate, I was greeted by this mess!

It takes a special breed of Pathetic Loser to drive a couple of miles up a Forest Service road
so that you can dump a load of your trash.   It looks like this flaming a**hole moron finished a
bathroom remodel, and couldn't be bothered disposing of the debris like a civilized human...

A week later, I revisited to check on the Carolina Lily, but it was STILL in bud!
Unfortunately, there is only a single plant, with the one flower...

There were still some nice Turk's Cap Lilies (Lilium superbum) in bloom.

4 - August 16, 2021

A little over two weeks later...   Well, the Carolina Lily finally flowered, but I missed its peak
bloom time.   Luckily, I had caught another in bloom at a different site the previous week...
