Mid October 2025

I headed up into Clay and Macon Counties to look for more early fall color.   This was the last of three stops.   Once you climb Chunky Gal Mountain on Hwy 64, the valleys are about 1000 feet higher in elevation than around Lake Chatuge and the Hiwassee River, so the foliage changes sooner.   The leaves were starting to turn, but there was still a lot of green.
