1 - Early May, 2025:

I made my first visit of the year to RBWM with David Best, following a stop at Eller Seep.   The goal at both sites was to monitor how the Green Pitcher Plants were coming along.   Overall they looked good, although a little behind their historical flowering time - lots of buds but only a handful of blooms so far.

The first prescribed burn in three years had
been conducted here earlier in the spring.

Pitcher_flower
As mentioned, only a few of the Green Pitcher Plants
(Sarracenia oreophila) had flowered so far.

I only took a couple of pics, having photographed these conditions many times in prior years.

2 - Early June, 2025:

I visited RBWM for my annual monitoring of the Ragged Fringed Orchids
(Platanthera lacera).   Like many orchids, they have bountiful years and
sparse years.   This was the latter, although I have seen worse here.
