A drizzly afternoon...
Orchids were growing in profusion along the road.

Spiranthes
Ladies' Tresses   (Spiranthes species)

Spiranthes
Spiranthes sp.
In later years, I have readily identified the species here as S. lacera var. gracilis.
But these flowers don't look the same!   Perhaps because they were wet?

Spiranthes lacera var. gracilis normally has a green spot on the lower lip, which
is not seen in these photos.   Perhaps the rain-soaked petals lightened it(?)
