1 - March 2023
After photographing the rock chimneys at an old homesite in Beechertown, I stopped by the mouth of Ledbetter Creek to photograph the old stone railroad culvert.
I've photographed this culvert before, but it's a great subject worth shooting again.
The Murphy Branch of the Western North Carolina Railroad was constructed between 1881 and 1894, so this stone culvert would have been built during that period.
I had not previously photographed the "back" side of the culvert.
Heading upstream along Ledbetter Creek, I encountered a number of rock piles.
These are just a few examples.
One more rock pile example...

Lots of rock further upstream... I wanted to go further up to see the bigger waterfalls, but I had been experiencing vertigo isssues and didn't want to risk it as the rocky gorge got steeper.

2 - November 2025
I revisited the lower portion of Ledbetter Creek, hoping to catch a little remaining fall color.
